Nicholas Stirling

Nicholas Stirling is a graduate of the OCAD University Toronto and is a current member of  the  Screen Composers Guild of Canada and The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) for 25 years. 

As a multi-instrumentalist with studies in keyboard, percussion, guitar and woodwind  Nicholas has provided original music scores for award-winning network programs including series, episodic and feature formats on CBC Newsworld, TVO, NFB/ONF, TLC, The Knowledge Network, APTN, Canadian Geographic, Canal D, and Discovery USA.

Nicholas Stirling brings to Evolution Dance Theatre (aka EDT) a composing and studio recording expertise in his LuxuriaMusic studio in Toronto (https://www.nstirling.com/index.php/portfolio/). He has been involved as Music Director, Composer and Board member for Evolution Dance Theatre since 2014, interested by the balance of EDT’s artistic integrity with the drive to develop and present spectacular multidisciplinary stage productions with a creative Middle Eastern flair.

In addition to continued documentary and album recordings, Nicholas contributes all  original music and sound mixes for 19 “Collective City Arts” documentary episodes,  with a ‘Community Heritage’ award nomination at the 2018 Toronto Heritage Awards.

In the community, Nicholas is a contracted Music Services Vendor at the  Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) Toronto.  As of 2025 he has facilitated over 1000 recreational drumming, music & storytelling sessions with patients in Youth, Psychosis Recovery, Forensic, Addictions & Withdrawal and Schizophrenia Programs.
