Nicholas Stirling Secretary & Music Director
Nicholas Stirling is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) and has current memberships in the Screen Composers Guild of Canada and SOCAN for 20+ years. As a multi - instrumentalist with studies in keyboard, percussion, guitar and woodwind he has provided original music scores for award - winning network programs inclu ding series, episodic and feature formats on CBC Newsworld, TVO, NFB/ONF, TLC, The Knowledge Network, APTN, Canadian Geographic, Canal D, and Discovery USA.
In addition to continued documentary and album recordings, Nicholas contributes original music and sound mixes for 11 Collective City Arts documentary episodes, with a ‘Community Heritage’ award nomination at the 2018 Toronto Heritage Awards.
In the community, Nicholas is a contracted Music Services Vendor at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health ( CAMH) Toronto. He has facilitated over 300 recreational hand - drumming, music and storytelling sessions with patients in the Concurrent Youth, Psychosis Recovery, Forensic, Addictions & Withdrawal and Schizophrenia Programs.
Nicholas Stirling brings to Evolution Dance Theatre a composing and studio recording expertise through his LuxuriaMusic studio in Toronto. He has been involved as Music Director, Composer and Board member for Evolution Dance Theatre since 2014, interested by the balance of EDT’s artistic integrity with the drive to develop and present spectacular musical stage productions with a creative Middle Eastern experience.
